Letter From the Council Commissioner |

Robert (Bob) Reeves
Council Commissioner |
-
One of the strengths of the Catalina Council (CC) that I have observed since arriving
here 10 years ago is how our volunteers rotate in and out of positions. I believe that
each of us has great ideas and contributions that we can bring to any organization, and
in Scouting, when we can take advantage of the rotation of volunteers, Scouting as a
whole, benefits by the introduction of new sets of ideas and energy. However, as a
natural part of "hello" there usually is an accompanying "farewell" and thank you.
-
In part, this column is my introduction as your Council Commissioner, but it is also an
acknowledgment of the tremendous accomplishments of my predecessors.
We are fortunate in that we will continue to support the council through the ScoutReach
Committee. With the start of the 2007-8 Scouting year, the following Districts have also
transitioned their District Commissioner; parenthetically I've listed the incoming and
departing District Commissioners in that order. Please join me in welcoming the District
Commissioners and thanking those that completed their term.

The primary role of all commissioners is unit service. To help us better serve the units,
Scouters and Scouts of the CC, we've made adjustments amongst some of the existing ACCs
in order to keep us focused on some of our top priorities; specifically diversity and service
to new units.
- To all commissioenrs - at all levels - thank you for your service
