SCOUTING NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT
Scouting began in the United States in 1910, as unaffiliated patrols and troops sprouted everywhere. Over time, Scouting became more organized, and more camping and activity resources were provided. Since its beginning, over 100 million boys have been Scouts.
In the Catalina Council over 7,000 youth contribute thousands of hours of community service while developing their character, fitness, and citizenship.
And perhaps most importantly, they are having a lot of fun doing it. With your help, Scouting will continue to provide its unique brand of fun and learning to children for years to come. The tradition of Scouting continues to be passed on from one generation to the next.
Have you ever thought about what you would like your legacy to be? Consider a commitment to become a member of the Second Century Society as a James E. West Fellow, Second Century Society, or President’s Leadership Council member leaving a lasting legacy of benefit for the Catalina Council’s Scout youth and its wonderful character and values-based programs!

Why is an Endowment Fund so important?
“Be Prepared” has always been and remains BSA’s motto. But as Scouting continues work into its second century of service to America, we have added a new theme – “Prepared. For Life.” – that brings into sharp focus the challenge of addressing and supporting the changing needs of today’s young people.
Growing our Endowment enables this Council to operate without worrying about the impact of unexpected capital expenditures on daily program support. It will also help the Council weather the ups and downs of the stock market, the job market and the market of supply-and-demand for its services.
