Catalina Council, Boy Scouts of America “Send a Scout to Camp”
Summer camp is more than just a place to have fun. It offers Scouts the opportunity to participate in physically and intellectually challenging activities, introduces them to new and rewarding experiences, and provides them with supportive and caring relationships. Every Scout should have the opportunity to go to summer camp.
Burt Lazar, a prominent Tucsonan and former Scoutmaster of Troop 100, has given the council a challenge grant opportunity to raise funds for camperships to assist young men in attending Boy Scout summer camp. We would like to create a $100,000 permanent campership fund, of which he will match contributions dollar for dollar to create over the next five years. Proceeds from the fund will send youth to Boy Scout summer camp every year! We need to raise $50,000 to take advantage of Mr. Lazar’s generous offer ($10,000 each year for the next five years).
If you would like more information about the Lazar Campership Fund or to contribute, please contact Ken Tucker, Scout Executive, at 520-750-0385, ext. 24 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
