This new FOS opportunity will increase the current pool of individuals that can be asked to support by providing an easy to use, online system that can reach friends and family across the community, state, and country.
Within the new online Friends ask Friends system BSA advocates and units are able to create an online webpage that is used to send emails to friends and family requesting their support in the Friends of Scouting Campaign. The best part is setting it all up and getting started only takes about 5 minutes.
The recipients can then visit the page created by the Scout, Unit or BSA advocate to donate online. Each unit will receive Friends of Scouting goal-credit for funds raised in the online system.
The new website can be found at the following locations: maybe say something like the new link because you were talking about “creating a website” which should be different from the place where you go to “create the website”.

Once at the page listed above, the process to set up a personal page is straight forward. Select Scouter Registration from the Navigation Bar on the left side of the screen. This will take you to a page that will allow you to pick which type of campaign you would like to create: individual or team. From here the process is new word. After creating a site and uploading a photo, the site can be linked to Facebook or Twitter, and progress charts can be placed on troop and personal websites.
Most board members and unaffiliated Scouts will want to choose individual. Each unit will need to decide if it will work as a team to meet a unit goal or as an individual.
The system is designed to be easy to use and has a great help system that can be accessed via the link in the upper right hand corner of the site.
