Please join us on Friday, February 8, 2013 to honor the 2012 Silver Beavers and other Council supporters.
The 2012 Silver Beaver honorees are;
John Apostolik, Thomas Fagan, Steven Gay, William Hill, Joanie Rivard, Melissa Schreiner and Jim Tarleton
In addition to honoring these fine volunteers, Cathy Hufault, author of DEATH CLOUDS On Mt Baldy: Tucson’s Lost Tragedy will speak about her book describing the events surrounding the young scouts who were lost in 1958. This is part of a review written by Bonnie Lee, The Virtual Scribe – “Written like the script of a good movie, even if you lived through the traumatic event, you’ll be spellbound by this page-turner. The book relives the events as they happened. Hufault has tracked down and interviewed most of the key players; she sorted through newspaper clippings, old photos, and brought it all together in a well-crafted narrative. The reader will be most touched by Hufault’s comments on how the thoughts of the surviving scouts and families have been haunted by the lingering if-onlys. The cast of characters who were directly involved in the search and rescue reads like a who’s who in southern Arizona. This is a must-read; one for the personal library.”
Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. at the Radisson Suites Hotel, 6555 E. Speedway Blvd. (registration starts at 6:30 p.m.). Reservations can be made for $40 per person or $370 for a table of 10 at http://cc.kintera.org/2013councildinner.
